HOPSON universal tyre repair patches are ideal for both radial and bias tyres. The improved rubber formulation and thicker material help prevent dimpling. These patches can also be used for tube repairs. They are made of a high-quality virgin rubber layer over a grey cushion gum base and come with an aluminum foil backing for easy handling.

Instructions

 

1. Inspect the tyre using HOPSON LAB guidelines to determine if it's repairable. If so, mark the injury with a crayon and carefully remove the object causing damage.

 

2. Probe the injury to assess its size and direction, removing all debris. Ensure the injury is within the repairable area and no larger than 6mm (1/4'') in diameter.

 

3. Apply vulcanizing cement to the injury channel and fill it with a vulcanizing insert. Cut the insert flush with the inner liner.

 

4. Position the patch over the injury, outline it for reference, clean the area with buffing solution and innerliner scraper. Buff the area to a velvet texture and remove all dust.

 

5. Apply vulcanizing cement and allow it to dry thoroughly. Place the repair patch over the injury, starting from the center and working outward.

 

6. Remount and inflate the tyre following safety guidelines. Inspect the repair for leaks and check the tyre for additional damage or leaks using manufacturer or HOPSON LAB guidelines. If everything meets the criteria, the tyre is ready for use again.
