Japan and UNIDO plan to connect all their power generation equipment through Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Sensors that monitor temperature and vibration will be placed on generators, turbines and other related parts to grasp the operation of machines and related data, and then analyze them through artificial intelligence , In order to achieve the improvement of production efficiency. Due to the remote control via IoT technology, it is possible to eliminate the need to send someone to the scene for some cases of disease or disaster risk, showing the unique advantages of IoT technology in the development and utilization of geothermal resources. Japanese suppliers account for about 70% of the world's geothermal turbine market. If the practice proved that IoT technology can improve the efficiency of power generation, then the East African countries will increase the geothermal power investment desire, which for turbine suppliers means the market will further expand. The Government of Japan exchanged anonymity with UNIDO on November 22, 2016 and decided to provide 1.5 billion yen through additional budget for geothermal related expenses.
