Chery is expected to export the first "Made in China" cars to the United States

As the representative of China's domestic automotive brands, Chery is on the verge of making history by exporting the first "Made in China" cars to the United States. According to Jin Yibo, the general manager of Chery Sales Co., vehicles manufactured in Japan and South Korea have gained significant popularity in the U.S. market. A U.S. car importer recently stated that Chinese-made vehicles could also find a strong reception in the American market. However, many domestic car manufacturers are still reliant on joint-venture models and lack full control over their export operations. This is where Chery stands out — it has taken a proactive approach and is now leading the charge in China's auto exports. In the past two years, Chery has emerged as one of the top car exporters in the country. Last year alone, it accounted for 92% of China's total car exports. In the first four months of this year, Chery successfully exported 2,400 units, with an ambitious target of reaching 10,000 units for the entire year. When combined with CKD (Completely Knocked Down) exports, the company aims to export a total of 30,000 vehicles this year. According to Kim, most of China’s auto exports currently go to developing countries where the automotive industry is not yet fully established. If Chery manages to successfully enter the highly developed markets of Europe and the U.S., it would mark a major milestone in the evolution of China's automobile industry. This move could not only boost the brand's global reputation but also open new doors for other Chinese automakers looking to expand internationally. It's a bold step that could redefine how the world perceives Chinese-made vehicles.
