The spiral chute is a gravity separation device that is widely used in the processing of non-ferrous metals, rare metals, and non-metallic minerals. It is suitable for materials such as iron ore, gold ore, ilmenite, chromite, pyrite, zircon, rutile, monazite, phosphorite, tungsten ore, tin, tantalum, and niobium ores, among others.
The spiral chute operates under the combined forces of water flow, gravity, centrifugal force, and friction. Slurry is fed into the top of the spiral, where it is distributed evenly through a feed distributor to each spiral concentrator. The unique design of the spiral allows for efficient sorting as the slurry flows down the spiral path. As the material moves along the spiral, particles are separated based on their size, density, and shape. Lighter particles are carried outward by the water flow, while heavier, denser particles move toward the inner side of the spiral, resulting in effective concentration.
