Xinchang bearing industrial base established to promote industrial transformation and upgrading

Recently, Xinchang, the “hometown of bearings”, was formally approved by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology to establish a “provincial hi-tech industrial base with special bearings for Xinchang”. This is a new provincial-level high-tech industrial base in the county. It also laid a good foundation for applying for state-level hi-tech industrial bases.

The bearing industry is the pillar industry and the largest civilian production industry in Xinchang. The county currently has more than 1,000 bearing enterprises. The total annual production value is 11.8 billion yuan, and the contribution rate to Xinchang's industrial economy is 20%.

In the development, Xinchang bearing companies are good at using external resources. The county established a contact and docking system with the expert service group to promote the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, established a government-funded, enterprise-based, multi-participation technology innovation service system, and set up an industry alliance of production, education, and research.

The industrial alliance has erected a bridge between Xinchang bearing enterprises and research institutes. Wuzhou Xinchun Group, CIMC Casting & Forging Company, Titan Corporation, Luoyang Axle Research Institute, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology Established the Bearing Product Application and Research Industry Alliance, and carried out research on manufacturing and application common technologies of bearing finished products and bearing rings; Machinery Company, Sanxiong Bearing Company, Beijing Institute of Technology, Hangzhou Dianzi University and Hangzhou Bearing Test and Research Center established the Bearing Equipment Industry Alliance to carry out equipment common technology research such as bearing ring turning, inspection and testing. “We make full use of the industry alliance platform to solve common technical issues in the industry and jointly complete innovation through resource complementation, shorten the R&D cycle, and accelerate the development of high-tech.” The person in charge of the County Science and Technology Bureau introduced the plan.

In order to further strengthen the development of the bearing industry, Hsin-Chang will be built into an innovative bearing and special equipment characteristic industrial base with international competitiveness. In March this year, Xinchang established a leading group for the construction of bearing and special equipment bases, and applied to the Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Establish "Xinchang Bearing and Special Equipment Provincial High-tech Characteristic Industrial Base".

It was also learned that five enterprises including the Wuzhou Xinchun Group and Peel Bearing in the county were approved as the backbone enterprises for the provincial and special industrial bases for bearings and special equipment. Relevant experts pointed out that the establishment of bearing and special equipment featured industrial bases will effectively promote the transformation, promotion and sustainable development of the traditional advantageous industries of Xinchang Bearing.
