Agilent transceivers make mobile phones a universal remote control device

Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A) has introduced a compact and cost-effective infrared transceiver that allows mobile phones to function as remote controls for TVs, VCRs, DVDs, and other household devices. This new transceiver supports IrDA (Infrared Data Association) communication over distances of up to 50 cm (about 20 inches) and can operate effectively up to 7 meters (around 23 feet). It is also compatible with Agilent’s universal remote control software, making it a versatile solution for smart home integration. The HSDL-3005 infrared transceiver comes in two configurations: front-view and side-view. The front-view version features an optical component on the top of the package, allowing infrared transmission or reception through the front or back of a handheld device. The side-view variant places the optical component on the side, enabling infrared communication through the side of the device. The front-view model measures 8.0 mm (width) × 2.5 mm (height) × 3.0 mm (length), while the side-view version is slightly smaller at 7.5 mm × 2.8 mm × 3.35 mm. Designed for ease of use, the HSDL-3005 offers flexible programming options, making it simple to integrate into various mobile applications. Agilent’s HSDL-S300 companion software provides a universal remote control experience with a built-in database of pre-defined remote codes and self-teaching capabilities. It supports a wide range of devices including TV, DVD, VCR, air conditioning, CD, audio, and LD/VCD players. Each configuration file can handle up to 10 different devices, allowing users to store control data for up to 80 home appliances (8 files × 10 devices per file). Each device can be controlled via up to 32 buttons or functions using a phone’s touchscreen or physical keys. To reduce costs and improve size efficiency, the HSDL-3005 uses a high-power 883nm LED for infrared transmission, replacing traditional components that typically operate at 875nm or 940nm. This design choice helps maintain performance while minimizing power consumption. The transceiver meets the low-power standards of IrDA physical layer version 1.4, supporting SIR (Serial Infrared) data rates from 9.6 kb/s to 115.2 kb/s. With an ultra-low idle current of less than 100 microamps and a shutdown current of just 10nA, it significantly extends battery life in portable devices. Additional features include LED overheating protection and an operating voltage range of 2.4V to 3.6V. All Agilent infrared transceivers are compliant with IEC 825-Class 1 safety standards, ensuring safe and reliable operation in consumer electronics.

PU Resin For Wet-Process

PU resin, also known as polyurethane resin, is widely used in the production of synthetic leather. Synthetic leather, also referred to as faux leather or artificial leather, is a man-made fabric that imitates the appearance and feel of genuine leather. PU resin is a key component in the manufacturing process of synthetic leather, as it provides the material with its durability, flexibility, and water resistance.

The process of producing synthetic leather involves coating a fabric substrate, such as polyester or nylon, with a layer of PU resin. This resin is typically applied in liquid form and then undergoes a curing process to solidify and bond with the fabric. The resulting material has a leather-like texture and appearance.

PU resin offers several advantages for synthetic leather production. It has excellent abrasion resistance, making the synthetic leather more durable and long-lasting. It also provides flexibility, allowing the material to be easily shaped and molded into different forms. Additionally, PU resin offers good water resistance, preventing the synthetic leather from absorbing moisture and becoming damaged.

Moreover, PU resin can be customized to achieve different finishes and textures, such as smooth, grainy, or embossed patterns, depending on the desired aesthetic. It can also be colored in various shades to mimic different types of leather. This versatility makes PU resin a popular choice for synthetic leather manufacturers.

Overall, PU resin plays a crucial role in the production of synthetic leather, providing the material with its desirable qualities of durability, flexibility, and water resistance.
