Chicago 4-11 Alarm Fire 12-29-12 (pt 6)>
On May 26, 2007, the same building experienced a 2-11 alarm fire during a rainy Saturday afternoon. I’m sharing these photos to provide context, as they show the building in its original state before the recent fire. The fire on that day seemed to start in the rear section, which is visible in the first photo. A witness I spoke with today mentioned that today’s fire also appeared to originate from the same area. The second image was taken from the railroad bridge looking east, showing the full length of the structure. The third photo was taken from Western Avenue, looking west. Credits go to Eric Haak.
