Recently, Professor Lei Weining, the deputy dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Automotive Engineering at Jiangsu Technical Teachers College, was honored with the Second Prize of the National Technology Invention Award and received commendation from the State Council. This prestigious recognition highlights his significant contributions to technological innovation and national development.
The project titled "High-Performance Precision Micro-Electric Casting Technology" is a key national defense initiative that has made remarkable progress. The successful development of this technology has significantly narrowed the gap between China and global leaders in materials science, while also playing a crucial role in advancing China's cutting-edge defense technologies. Notably, the project marks the first time the world has achieved breakthroughs in high-performance precision micro-electric casting, and it has already been commercialized, demonstrating its practical value and potential for future applications.
In recent years, Professor Lei has actively participated in two national natural science foundation projects and led three provincial and ministerial-level research initiatives. His main research areas focus on the preparation of electrodeposited nano-materials, precision molding techniques, and advanced micro-processing technologies. He is also the principal investigator responsible for the construction of the "Foundation of Engineering Materials and Forming Technology," a second-class excellent course in Jiangsu Province. In addition, he has been deeply involved in curriculum reform and educational innovation in related disciplines, striving to enhance the quality of technical education and nurture future engineering talents.
