The 10,000-ton-per-year phosphoric acid project of Hubei Xiangfan Yonghe Phosphoric Acid Technology Co., Ltd. has been officially included in the national science and technology support plan, marking a significant milestone for the company. As part of this initiative, the project is expected to receive 2 million yuan in state financial support over the next three years, which will help accelerate its development and technological innovation.
This marks the third phosphoric acid project from Hubei Province to be recognized under the National Science and Technology Support Program. In total, these three projects are set to benefit from a combined funding of 10 million yuan. The other two projects include the hydrolyzed phosphoric acid purification initiative by Hubei Xiangyun Chemical Co., Ltd., located in Wuxue City, Hubei Province, and another advanced phosphoric acid production project that is still under detailed review.
The kiln-process phosphoric acid technology represents a breakthrough in the industry. Unlike traditional methods that rely on sulfuric acid and high energy consumption, this new process uses a rotary kiln to produce phosphoric acid directly from low-grade phosphate rock, silica, and carbon-based reducing agents. This not only reduces reliance on sulfur but also significantly lowers electricity usage, making it a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution.
With the support of the national program, these projects are expected to enhance China's competitiveness in the global phosphoric acid market while promoting sustainable industrial practices. The government's investment reflects a strategic focus on advancing green technologies and improving resource efficiency in the chemical sector.
