The vehicles involved were a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2006 Ford Expedition, both of which were primarily used by the Fire and Life Safety Division. The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. at Station 1, located at 261 E. Maple Street. A single individual was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but no firefighters were injured in the crash. The fire department is currently assessing the extent of the damage to the vehicles and the surrounding area. "We are extremely grateful that no one was seriously hurt in this accident," said Chief Steve Engledow. "While the vehicles can be replaced, it's still a difficult situation for our team." Although there is no major damage to the station building, some landscaping and exterior lighting were affected.
