Top Off-Road E-Bike Routes in the U.S. to Explore

When we designed the Delfast OFFROAD e-bike in response to countless requests from our fans across the U.S., we wanted to make sure they had the best routes to explore. So, here’s a curated list of some of the best off-road routes in the country to inspire you to get out there and experience the thrill of off-road biking with your Delfast OFFROAD e-bike.

Mojave Road, Arizona and California

If you're anywhere near Arizona or California, the Mojave Road is an absolute must-visit. This 147-mile trail runs from Bullhead City, Arizona to Newberry Springs, California and offers jaw-dropping landscapes. Known historically as the Old Government Road, it served as a crucial route for Spanish explorers, missionaries, and settlers in the 18th and 19th centuries. It takes about three days to fully traverse the route, but trust me, the views are so mesmerizing that you’ll want to linger much longer! Just remember to watch out for rattlesnakes—there are plenty of them in this area!

Backcountry Discovery Route, Washington (WBDR)

The Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WBDR), created by Bryce Stevens and Andrew Cull, is a 600-mile off-road adventure through the diverse landscapes of Washington State. From the lush rainforests of the Cascade Mountains to the arid deserts of Eastern Washington, this route offers a little bit of everything. Along the way, you’ll find numerous campsites and hotels where you can recharge your e-bike and rest your legs. Whether you’re riding a motorcycle or an e-bike, WBDR is an unforgettable journey!

Of course, the Mojave Road and WBDR aren’t the only incredible routes in the U.S. Other amazing trails can be found in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and California.

Alpine Loop Trail, Colorado

Starting in Lake City, Colorado, the 63-mile Alpine Loop Trail winds through the San Juan Mountains, passing by seven abandoned ghost towns. These eerie remnants of the past add an extra layer of intrigue to the already breathtaking scenery. While the route is absolutely stunning, it's worth noting that it’s closed during winter due to snow. So, plan accordingly and don’t miss out on the chance to explore this unique trail.

El Camino Del Diablo, Arizona

Arizona’s El Camino Del Diablo, or “The Devil’s Highway,” is a 250-mile route steeped in history and challenges. Stretching from Ajo to the Mexican border, this rugged dirt road was historically known for its unforgiving terrain. Be sure to carry plenty of water and emergency supplies, as the desert conditions can be brutal. Adventurers take this route entirely at their own risk, but for those seeking a true off-road adventure, it’s an unforgettable experience.

Magruder Road Corridor, Idaho and Montana

Stretching 117 miles between Idaho and Montana, the Magruder Road Corridor is named after Lloyd Magruder, who tragically lost his life on this road in 1863. While the route is mostly winding and may feel uncomfortable at times, it offers a genuine off-road journey from Elk City, Idaho, to Darby, Montana. Expect to spend about two days exploring this lesser-known gem.

White Rim Trail, Utah

We couldn’t end our list without mentioning the iconic White Rim Trail in Utah. Spanning 71 miles, this desert trail takes two days to complete and showcases some of the most famous rock formations, towers, and sandstone arches in the region. Remember to bring plenty of water, as the desert heat can be intense. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can tackle the entire route in one day on your Delfast OFFROAD e-bike without needing to stop for charging!

Happy trails and see you on the road!
