Bunting’s Custom Electromagnetic Sweepers for an Indonesian Airport

The Towable Electromagnetic Sweeper is designed to be easily attached to a vehicle, such as a service truck or SUV. It features a strong magnetic block that efficiently lifts and holds ferrous debris. The unit is equipped with a user-friendly tow hitch and two durable wheels, allowing for smooth operation on various surfaces—including runways, roads, and large industrial areas.

Operators can control the magnet from inside the vehicle, turning it on and off as needed. This allows for quick release of any collected debris, ensuring efficient cleaning without unnecessary downtime.

These sweepers are ideal for outdoor use and can operate at speeds between 5 and 6 mph. They come in a range of widths, from 1200mm to 2440mm, and can be customized to fit specific site requirements.

For an airport in Indonesia, Bunting delivered three custom-built models with a magnetic width of 2440mm each. Each unit weighs around 1500 kg and is powered by a 220VAC generator and a Honda gasoline engine. The system includes a push-button start/stop feature with auto-reverse, as well as a rotating flash beacon to indicate the magnet's status.
