Here are some photos from the fire at 976 Tara Court in Wheaton today. The fire started in the rear of the house and quickly spread up the wall and into the attic. It was a dead-end street, so the second engine had to travel about 1,000 feet to reach the nearest hydrant. All responding units had to walk in from Blanchard with their tools and equipment due to limited access. The temperature was around 98 degrees when the fire broke out, making the conditions extremely challenging for the crews.
