Working fire in Des Plaines, 12-12-19
Thursday afternoon on December 12, 2019, the Des Plaines Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment building located at 642 Colonial Drive. The firefighters from Firehouse 63 were on the scene quickly and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread to the attic. Their efforts focused on interior knockdowns, managing the roof, and thoroughly overhauling the area to ensure the fire didn’t reignite.
Thanks to their swift action, what could have been a much larger incident was kept under control as a manageable working fire response. Thankfully, no civilians were injured during the incident.
Attached are some photos taken by the Des Plaines Fire Department showing the aftermath of the fire and the diligent work of the firefighters as they worked to secure the scene. It's always reassuring to see such professionalism in action, especially when lives and property are at stake. Thanks again to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication.
