Historic fire scene photos from 1950

Hey there, This message comes from Eric Haak. He shared some really interesting photos taken back in the 1950s by a photographer whose last name was Augustyn. Unfortunately, we don't have his first name. These pictures show a fire that broke out around that time near the intersection of Diversey and Pulaski. Interestingly enough, it happened on the same spot where a Walgreens now stands next to Engine 91's station. The fire occurred at the Rainbo Lanes Bowling Alley. In the images, you can see Fire Truck 35 parked close to the building, and another truck—likely Truck 13—raising its ladder. The water tower in the scene is numbered 2. Hope you find these photos as fascinating as I do! Attached here are several images captured by Augustyn. The first one shows firefighters at work, looking intense and focused. Next, there's a shot of the fire scene itself, giving us a glimpse into what the area might have looked like back then. Another image highlights antique fire trucks responding to the emergency, which is just so cool to look at. There's also a picture featuring the iconic water tower doing its job, spraying water to help control the flames. A couple more shots give us different angles of the firefighters and their equipment, capturing their dedication and effort. It's amazing how much history these photos hold, and they really bring the past to life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Take care, [Your Name]
