Following this, the pipes go through rigorous inspection and testing. Non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and visual checks are used to detect any flaws or defects. Only pipes that pass these tests move forward in the production line.
Surface treatments are also applied to protect the pipe from corrosion. Common treatments include phosphate coatings, epoxy coatings, or other protective layers that extend the pipe's lifespan and improve its performance in corrosive environments.
Each pipe is then marked with key information such as size, material grade, heat number, manufacturer details, and other necessary identifiers. This ensures traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Finally, the finished products are packaged and shipped to the customer or oilfield site. Proper packaging helps prevent damage during transportation and ensures the pipes arrive in optimal condition.
