Subscribers Get Raft of New Capabilities from Autodesk Collections

Over the past few years, we've transformed how we deliver software updates to our users. Now, we release features as soon as they're ready, so you can access the latest tools and capabilities faster than ever before.

Our approach to gathering product ideas has also evolved. Through direct collaboration with customers and active participation in open communities like Ideastations, we hear what you need to work more efficiently and effectively. Last year alone, customer feedback led to hundreds of improvements across our product lines—and we're just beginning this journey.

We’re continuing to build on these new practices by co-developing with our users and rolling out updates more frequently. However, there are still times when development cycles align, resulting in a concentrated set of updates over a short period. Recently, AutoCAD received its major ‘2019’ update, and this week, we’re launching a significant batch of improvements across our Industry Collections.

The Industry Collections bring together Autodesk’s most powerful tools into simple, industry-specific packages. Subscribing to a Collection gives you the best value by connecting the entire design-to-manufacture workflow tailored to your field. We’ve spoken with teams across the company to highlight what’s coming next in each Collection.

Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection

“Revit 2019 includes many updates directly from customer suggestions submitted through our Revit Ideas page. The top requests have been addressed, including a completely redesigned view management system that enhances multi-monitor support—something that received nearly 1,000 votes! We’ve also improved 3D working with full perspective editing, added 3D level display, and introduced physically based materials to elevate architectural design. Other key updates include expanded steel connection modeling, rebar support for freeform structures like bridges, and enhanced mechanical fabrication workflows.”
