A new fire department has been added to the site thanks to Karl Klotz’s dedication. While we’re still waiting for official photos of their stations, the Troy Fire Protection District is now fully represented on the site, showcasing equipment from both of their stations. Recently, Troy opened a new headquarters and began ordering apparatus in a brand-new color scheme. Until as recently as 2008, all of their vehicles were painted in a bright lime green—like their IHC/Medtec ambulance and Kenworth/Pierce Contender tanker. Now, they’ve transitioned to a striking black-over-deep-red paint job, with four units already in service. This includes two new Pierce Arrow XT engines, a Ford/Medtec ambulance, and a brush unit mounted on a four-door Ford pickup. They have not yet decided on a new designation for the older unit. This change in color and equipment reflects a broader shift in their identity, signaling a modernization effort that's clearly underway. It’s always exciting to see how departments evolve over time, and Troy is no exception. We’ll continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
